What did Gertrude Stein, Peggy Guggenheim and Bidhan Chandra Roy have in common?

Stein was a patron to Matisse and Picasso; Guggenheim promoted Jackson Pollock, and Bidhan Chandra Roy, during his time as the Chief Minister of West Bengal, was instrumental in funding Satyajit Ray's Pather Panchali.

They were all crucial to the making of great art in the twentieth century. They understood genius and invested in its support.

In fact, many of the world's artistic masterpieces would not have been created without the sustained generosity of benefactors: people like you who nurture creativity by providing assistance to artist, enabling them to pursue their vision.

Since 1996, India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) has funded over 250 artistic endeavours. We support writers, dancers, filmmakers, musicians, theatre directors, sculptors, and photographers from across the country. We've funded cultural organisations and institutions that provide training in arts practice, the development of new theatrical spaces, initiatives in arts education and projects that engage experimental perspectives. Projects we have funded have received national and international recognition.

As a Friend of IFA you will be contributing directly to philanthropy in the arts and encouraging the presence of the arts in public life. In return, you will receive:

* Exclusive access to exciting events hosted by IFA: movie screenings, book releases, exhibitions and theatre performances.
* The IFA Newsletter, through which you stay connected with new happenings in the arts and get to know more about work.
* ArtConnect, our biannual magazine featuring essays on/by eminent artists.
* Our Annual Report, so you can track the impact of your contribution.

Friends of IFA support the production and presentation of both traditional and experimental artistic forms. You can donate to either of the following:

Arts Legacy Fund

Supports inherited Indian traditions in all genres and disciplines and contributes to the conservation of our cultural heritage.
Arts Innovation Fund

Supports cutting-edge contemporary art projects and encourages innovative and experimental creative work.

You can join us as a Friend of IFA for an annual contribution of Rs 2, 500 (Two Thousand and Five Hundred) if you live in India or a $100 (Hundred Dollars) if you reside outside India. You can also become a friend for:

* Three years for Rs 7, 000
* Five years for Rs 10, 000
* Ten years for Rs 20, 000
* A Friend for Life for Rs 50, 000 to a Lakh
